The Torre del Mar gastronomy is the cuisine of the Costa del Sol fused with the gastronomy of the interior of Andalusia, a fusion between good products from the mountains and the sea. Olive oil, fresh fish from the bay, Axarquía meats and vegetables from the Vega de Vélez (fertile lowland of Vélez) are the ingredients of the best diet in the world.

Espeto
The "chiringuitos" (beach restaurants) of Torre del Mar are very famous for the preparation of this dish, "el espeto", which consists of grilling fish skewered onto canes, although there are several types of fresh fish to be tasted, one of the most popular are the sardine "espetos".
The "Pescaíto Frito" is one of the most popular dishes of the Malaga cuisine which consists of small fishes from the bay, coated in almorta flour (flour made from seeds of common vetch or tare) and it is the perfect appetizer accompanied by a nice cold pint.
